Monkey spikes are heavy-gauge spike strips fixed along the edges and ledges a troop uses to move around a building. The pins are longer and set in a stiffer, more strongly fixed base than bird spikes, because the load is completely different: a monkey grips, pulls and puts its weight on a surface, where a bird only lands on it.
Like every SpikeZone product, they work by removing a comfortable purchase, not by hurting the animal. There is no electric fence, no chemical and no trap. The monkey finds the edge awkward to hold and takes a different route.
A bird spike will not do this job
People try it and the strips get pulled off within a week. Bird spikes are designed for a bird's weight and a bird's landing. Monkey work needs a heavier pin, a stiffer base and mechanical fixing — adhesive alone will not hold.

Watch where the troop actually enters and moves — usually the same wall, pipe and parapet every day. Treating one wall while leaving the adjoining ledge open achieves nothing.
Runs must be unbroken along the route. A two-foot gap at a corner becomes the new crossing point within days.
Into sound masonry, at proper centres. Adhesive is not sufficient for this load, and old or crumbling parapet edges may need making good before fixing.
An established troop will test the new route repeatedly before giving it up. That is normal, and removing the spikes early undoes the work entirely.
